Will cross 10,000 units sales mark in 2013: Audi India

NEW DELHI: German luxury car manufacturer Audi today said it expects sales in India to cross the 10,000 units mark this year on the back of sustained growth through new product launches and network expansion.
The company said in the January-September period its sales in India grew by 15 per cent to 7,391 units as against 6,417 units in the year-ago period.
"We are confident that we will be the first luxury car manufacturer in the country to cross sales of 10,000 units in a calendar year," Audi India Head Joe King said in a statement.

Besides, it started production of the SUV Q3 in India last month to add to the list of locally assembled models -- Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi Q5 and Audi Q7.
On the network fornt, it will close the year with 34 dealerships across India. It has at present 27 dealerships.
"We continue with our expansion strategy on the product and network front. We have strengthened our product portfolio with new engines...We will also open three new dealerships in October," he added.
